Hm. I’ve never experienced the following problems with video and audio. Wally Young, Abilene/TX, USA, is wondering via Abilene Reporter News and Abilene Reporter-News:
“I have run into something that is a mystery to me. Ever since the change from analog to digital for TV and the cold weather, all I can get on the four channels is useless. If the temperature is below 65 degrees, the audio is silent and the video is scrambled. When the temperature reaches 70 degrees, all is well again.”
“I have contacted two of the local channels and explained what is happening, and they don’t have an answer as to the cause for the problem.”
“If there is anyone else who has this problem, I would like to hear from them.”
“I know of two others who have this problem, and they don’t know why this is happening.”
“I don’t have the new Plasma TV, nor a new LCD HDTV. I do have the new box that is supposed to allow us to receive the channels. I have an antenna in my attic that I have been using for about 12 years.”
“I had no trouble until the change from analog to digital. And even with the change, I had no trouble until the cold weather set in.”
“Any help will be appreciated.”
Does anyone has the same probs and any answer to such a cold mystery?

I have no clue, but 65 degrees Fahrenheit is hardly cold, that’s 18 degrees Celsius.
I get the same TV reception here whether it is 90 or -50 outside…
Possibly more to do with dampness than cold. As Renato pointed out, 65F is not cold, and I cannot see that such a small fluctuation in temperature would make a difference. However, if the weather also becomes damp at the same time as it becomes cold, that may be making a difference.
