You are invited to join us for the 18th running of the Annual Gold Rush Trail Dog Sled Mail Run. Following the historic Cariboo Waggon Road, this event marks one of the few remaining opportunities in the country to arrange to have an envelope carried by dog team and delivered through the regular Canada Post system.
18th Annual Mail Run: January 22, 23, 24, 2010

I’ve always wanted to be pulled in a sled!!!
Wish I lived near places that still have sled dogs.
Best regards,
TAILORED SOCIETY
This is certainly an exciting thing !
Hmm. Just wonder. Who can send a mail with such a dog sled?
You must purchase a special “sled dog” envelope, with a design/drawing of sled dogs. Then, you put regular Canadian postage on it. Then, you mail it at a special “sled dog” mail box in this area (Cariboo Region of British Columbia). Then, all of the envelopes are sorted by destination. Then, the dog mushers are sworn in as official Canada Post mail carriers by the local Postmaster. Then, the bags of mail are given to the mushers to carry on their sleds. Then, in very, very, cold weather, the mushers and their dogs take off through the frozen wilderness to their destination. The mail is cancelled at Barkerville (I think) post office, then it goes off around the world.
It is very exciting and there are so many dogs. They are surprisingly small, some of them. They love to run and be “mushed.”
If you have snow, you can get dogs, and get a sled! You will need a lot of dogs, though.
This is an spectacular entry. Thank you very much for the supreme post provided! I was looking for this entry for a long time, but I wasn?t able to find a authentic source.
I’ve noticed your website a while ago, just never really got a chance to post anything back. I found it to be very useful and would like to see if you are able to get in touch with me and maybe we can have a discussion on a few of these topics. Would appreciate a response back.
